It’s time to get out our garden gloves.
We’ll also need potting soil, a bit of fertilizer, and a bigger pot.
It’s time to replant that rootbound plant . . . the one we’ve repotted three times already.
Sheesh, we cry. Can’t it just grow and leave us alone? We have other things to do.
Now let’s transfer that situation to our spiritual lives.
God says we need to put on our spiritual gloves.
It’s time to get out our Bible, add some prayer, and widen our circle of Christian friends.
We can help not only ourselves but others around us when we toss away our old life (our too-small pot) and jump into God’s new plan (our new, bigger pot).
You may say, “I’ve done this before, God. My roots always get entangled all over again.”
Here’s your answer in Hebrews 2:18:
“For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.”
That’s you, Christian. While this verse speaks specifically to Jesus, it applies to you, too! Because you’ve been tempted, God says you are his expert. You are perfect for repotting the sinner into God’s salvation pot.
Roll up your sleeves. Put on your gloves. With your Bible in hand and prayer for fertilizer, you’ll have people growing in the Lord before you can say, “You are replanted now.”
Don’t be afraid to move into God’s future. He offers you freedom in him.
