Supercharging Our Plow

English Audio Version

In automotive terms, a supercharger shoves more air down our engine’s throat.

The faster the air flows in, the easier it is to burn the fuel flowing through the fuel rail.

Choke off the air, and the engine will die.

What does that have to do with a plow? Simple. We don’t use mules any longer. Or oxen or horses.

Modern farms have giant power-driven machines. The more power, the faster the fields can be planted.

Hence, supercharged plows.

Galatians 6:8 gives our supercharged plow a spiritual slant:

“For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.”

See, the Spirit is our supercharger. If we try to live our life on our own, we’ve still got a mule hooked up to our plow.

Oh, yeah, you read into that what was intended. If you’re doing this on your own, you’ve got a mule hooked up to your spiritual plow. That’s you, sweet Christian.

It’s time to let Jesus have control. It’s time to put the Spirit in charge. Let’s get out of the field, take a ride in the cab of our giant plowing machine, and let the experts get the job done.

It won’t be long until we have the entire field planted with the spiritual grain of the gospel of the cross of Jesus Christ.

There’s more than one way to plow a field, but the only good way is with God in control. Let’s let him take charge today.

Rah, rah, Jesus! You’re the best that’s ever been!
