Have you ever felt like you’ve been waiting forever—for healing, direction, or breakthrough—and wondered if God even notices? Waiting can test our faith more than almost anything else. But Scripture reminds us that God’s timing is never wasted.
Lamentations 3:25 (NIV) tells us:
“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.”
That’s not a promise of instant answers—it’s a reminder that goodness and hope grow most deeply when we keep our eyes on Him in the middle of the waiting.
The writer of Lamentations penned those words in a season of devastation and loss. Yet even in that darkness, he discovered that God’s presence was still faithful. Our waiting seasons aren’t evidence of God’s absence—they’re often where His character becomes most real.
When we choose hope instead of despair, we begin to see how He’s shaping us through patience, trust, and surrender.
We see this truth reflected in real lives. Christian singer Mandisa shared how a long season of depression and waiting on God’s healing led her to rediscover His goodness and purpose through community and faith. Her story reminds us that God doesn’t rush transformation—He refines us in love.
Another verse reminds us what this waiting looks like:
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles…” (Isaiah 40:31, NIV).
When we hope in Him, we don’t just survive the waiting—we grow stronger through it.
So if you’re in a season of holding on, don’t give up. God’s goodness is still unfolding, even when you can’t see it yet.
God’s waiting room isn’t wasted time—it’s where His goodness takes deeper root in your heart.
