The world tells us we can look forward to a changing world, one of our own creation.
Reports as of April 2022 proclaim the SW United States will continue to endure debilitating drought and heat. Glaciers are melting, and if you live in Florida, expect to be underwater before too long.
Help! Is there any good news out there?
Isaiah 35:1 speaks to our future as Christians:
“The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus; it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing.”
Let’s rephrase this verse into one that reflects the type of climate change Christians can expect to see coming our way.
“Those suffering for Christ shall be glad; anyone going through a dry spell shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus; their troubles will fade, and they shall rejoice with joy and singing.”
That’s a future we can look forward to.
Forget the droughts. Glaciers, bah, they are temporary, anyway. Florida, well, maybe they need to learn to swim. How can I talk like this? JESUS IS OUR JOY AND IN HIM WE WILL SING!
When our eyes are on Christ and not the world, all we will see is the joy he brings to us.
