Kickstarted for Jesus

We know life can be bad.

The car breaks down. We forget to mail the house payment.

OUR SPOUSE LEAVES US!

We hate being an adult because our back hurts and we have to get out of bed each day.

WHY US, GOD?

Jesus loved to turn bad times on its ears.

Mark 1:14-15 tells us:

“After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. ‘The time has come,’ he said. ‘The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!’”

Here’s what Jesus could see that we tend to miss. When the night’s darkest, that’s when the sun is about to rise. When life is roughest, that’s when the sea is about to calm.

When John was put in prison, Jesus chose that time to preach that the kingdom of God was near!

Woo-hoo! When bad things happen to us, that’s our signal. Let’s preach the Good News! Christ came to forgive us of our sins, and all we need to do is accept him. When we change our lives to live like Jesus, the world will see that BAD THINGS CANNOT DEFEAT US.

When life kicks us, we’re being kickstarted into doing good for Jesus.

Excerpt of the Day

Jesus is our number one authority, and the only thing he tells us to do is love one another.
