Your Gold Mine in Jesus

There’s a story of a miner in Colorado during the Gold Rush years of the mid-1800s who tired of working his claim after months of nothing but sand, grit, and gravel.

He packed up his things, sold his equipment to another man, and left his successor to pick up where he left off.

Here’s the twist in this story. The new miner was advised to continue digging in the exact same spot, that a vein of gold was likely only a few feet in. After three feet of additional digging, he broke through to a vein of golden riches.

Are you seeing this the way I want you to? The second man got rich, but the first miner was only three feet away from getting rich.

If he hadn’t given up, he would have found the gold. Instead, he walked away from the reward that could have been his.

Jeremiah 29:11 in the NIV tells us:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Three feet more.  Sometimes that’s all the perseverance we need.

What promises has God made to you, even though you don’t see the evidence of them coming to pass?

You’ve nearly broken through. Stick with God, stay true to his promises, and you will receive the answers he has for you.
