Complainers.
You’ve been around them.
They were all over Zacchaeus the tax collector in the Bible.
They attacked Jesus in the temple, the woman being stoned, even the disciples in the Upper Room when the Holy Spirit fell on the faithful.
A wise man once grew tired of people complaining about the same issues over and over, so he told a joke.
It was a good joke, and everyone cracked up. Laughter rang in the hallways and across the gardens.
When the complainers returned, he retold the same joke. Only a few laughs, and not very hearty, filled the corridors.
The next day, at the first complaint, the same joke … and no one laughed.
“You see,” the wise man said with a smile. “Even a joke grows old with repetition. So why complain about the same thing over and over?”
1 Peter 1:3 tells us:
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
God the Father found us and changed us through Jesus, his son.
Let’s take that example to heart. When you are faced with a problem, create a plan to fix it. Lift it before God, and with his guidance, your problem can become the inspiration to do great things for him!
