What’s the mark we want to make on the world?
Are we into personal achievement, taking our best and going one step further?
Or is family our thing, where close involvement with our siblings and children gives us personal joy?
Maybe our bank accounts motivate us. The more we have, the higher our level of achievement.
God wants to propel us into success, whatever our goal.
Let’s read his promise in Isaiah 30:23:
“And he will give rain for the seed with which you sow the ground, and bread, the produce of the ground, which will be rich and plenteous. In that day your livestock will graze in large pastures.”
Here’s how it works:
- When we plant, God will water our efforts.
- When we harvest, God will ensure the quality.
- When we invest our blessing, God will multiply it to a greater end.
Go ahead and get excited, but don’t forget how each of these successes begin. When we . . . plant . . . harvest . . . invest our blessing.
The key to achieving God’s success is to take the first step. God doesn’t reward us for being the best couch potato on the block. We don’t get a trophy for watching the world go by. There’s no prize for “wish-ism” or dreaming.
God is our provider and our help. He desires us to be successful. He wants us to participate in achieving our reward.
Give it up to God. Like, everything. Commit 100 percent, and we won’t be able to contain God’s blessing.
Our success begins with that first step we take for our Lord.
