Success.
It avoids you like the plague.
People you’ve known have gone on to become successful, with fine houses, sleek cars, and a lifestyle that any social media influencer could envy.
Even in the church, women glitter with diamonds, and the cut of the men’s suits tell of their exorbitant cost.
You feel you can’t compete and want to give up in frustration.
God says that’s not how he measures your worth. Houses, cars, and fine apparel aren’t on his “notice me” measuring stick.
God sees the man or woman inside the house, inside the clothing, inside the luxurious lifestyle.
Proverbs 28:6 says:
“Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.”
True success, God’s success, is found in how you manage your relationship with God.
True success is being kind to your neighbor when they play their music loudly far into the night.
True success is visiting the elderly on your block to ensure they know someone remembers their name.
True success is maintaining God’s standards even when no one else is around.
Houses and cars? There’s nothing wrong with those, and they can be very useful. They aren’t what matter to God.
God lifts up the pure of heart as his champion in all things.
