Choosing is a valuable option in life.
Our spouse. Who wants an arranged marriage? What if we’re not in love?
Red car or blue? Hey, we might want black or frost white. It’s our car, after all.
To work in the city or in the country. We should be able to pick. It’s the hours in our day that we’re using up.
A good life or a bad . . . scrrr-aa-tch, goes the record of life. Who would choose a bad life?
No one. Yet, many people have a bad life. So, what happened?
Little choices took them down a path they didn’t see until it was too late. Now’s our time to choose the best way to live.
Here are 6 Reasons to Walk in Jesus’ Footsteps.
Our 1st Reason:
We know there’s a better way to live. Hebrews 10:26 tells us we have no excuse.
“For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins.”
Our 2nd Reason:
He will walk before us, guiding us all the way. Job 23:11 says we will find the good path in Christ.
“My foot has held fast to his steps; I have kept his way and have not turned aside.”
Our 3rd Reason:
Jesus calls to us. John 14:6 gives us the words of the Master.
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’ ”
Our 4th Reason:
Our forefathers have prepared the path for us. Mark 1:3 reminds us others have gone before us.
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.’ ”
Our 5th Reason:
We’ll never find the path on our own. Matthew 7:13 says it’s easy to become distracted.
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.”
Our 6th Reason:
The best choices are often beyond our understanding. Proverbs 3:5 tells us to place our trust in the Father.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
There you have it, 6 Reasons to Walk in Jesus’ Footsteps. Read the Bible. Uncover its truths. Follow in the footsteps of our Lord. Our reward will be a good life lived for him.
Jesus is our plan. Heaven is our goal. Let’s do it today.
