Young people face an unusual challenge in our modern church.
They feel excluded. Their views are too “out-of-line.” Their music is too “edgy.” Their lifestyle choices are too different from church “norms.”
The Bible tells us young people are the church’s hope for the future. Without our youth, there is no church in fifty years.
The Word of God will open your mind, raise your expectations, and allow you to see the power position youth hold in God’s eyes.
Let’s look at 5 Reasons Youth Is Good.
1 Timothy 4:12 starts with God’s direction for young people to gain a position of power among the believers.
“Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 says God is at the side of our youth, and they will stand brave and courageous before the world.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
Isaiah 41:10 reveals God’s hedge of protection around the church’s upcoming generation.
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Jeremiah 29:11 promises a grand and dynamic path for the Christian youth of today.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Psalm 119:9 is the proof that verifies our youth are living God’s standard.
“How can a young man [or woman] keep [their] way pure? By guarding it according to your word.”
No one doubts that experience is vital for leadership. Sometimes it takes youth’s exuberance to startle us out of our time-honored ruts.
Youth is good. It’s God’s way to provide for the future. Our young people are God’s plan for tomorrow.
