Our Overcoming Joy

English Audio Version

We are laborers for our Lord.

We must put our backs into our efforts for him. We can’t be slackers for our King.

Yet, there are times to stop tilling the garden, quit being careful with our nippers, and get serious with what we’re doing.

God wants us to rip out wrongdoing by the roots, burn it on a heap, and change the world in his name.

Joel 3:10 reveals the urgency of God’s new commandment in our lives:

“Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, ‘I am a warrior.’ ”

Jesus came to us with a message of love, but he didn’t wrap it in a shroud of weakness. Strength in Christ is the name of the game.

We need a new anthem. We should sing, “We are the warriors.” That’s all the lyrics we need. It will enrapture our hearts and fill our souls with joy. It will drive us to be the men and women Jesus needs us to be.

When Jesus is our strong right hand, there’s nothing we cannot do for him.

Jesus is our number one authority, and the only thing he tells us to do is love one another.
