Abundance in Praise

Being kind often gets things done.

Praise someone first, and they’ll work harder for you.

Treat people with respect, and you’ll be surprised at the respect you receive in return.

Does that work with God? Of course it does.

Leviticus 26:3-4 ESV says:

“If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.”

How many times have we prayed and started with, “God, here’s what I need …”

Yes, we’ve all done it. However, what if we try this: “God, my first words are to tell you how much I love you and appreciate all that you’ve done for me …”

Abundance in praise. God’s reply to us is, “I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.”

Most of us aren’t farmers, so let’s break that down. He will provide us with the opportunity to be successful, to move forward in life, to have enough to supply our needs and perhaps a little extra.

He doesn’t say he’s about to dump a million dollars in our lap. How do we know? He says, “I will give you your rains in their season.”

In their season. When the opportunity arises. At the right time.

When we place our trust in God and walk according to his Word, we will receive the bounty of his promises at the right time.

Let’s start with praise. Then the blessing will follow, and we can rejoice in him.
