2 Reasons to Worship God

English Audio Version

Because I told you so.

Have you heard that? Probably. It doesn’t do much to convince us to jump on board.

We need an explanation, an example, a reason to alter our behavior.

Change the oil in the car? Bah! It hasn’t broken down yet.

Save for retirement? That’s years away. I want to spend the money now.

Show respect to the police officer? I don’t have to be polite unless I feel like it.

Make the car payment on time? What? Will they repossess it or something? No way!

Yes, way. There are some things that are obvious and others we need explained to us if we want to avoid the mess they can cause.

Here are Two Reasons to Worship God found in Revelation 4:10-11:

“The twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying, ‘Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.’ ”

Our First Reason to Worship God:

“For you created all things . . .”

All things. Dirt. Rocks. The air we breathe. The sun that gives us life. Us. Yes . . . us . . . you and me and everyone else. They (we) all come from his powerful hand.

Our Second Reason to Worship God:

“By your will they existed and were created.”

God chooses to give us life . . . and family . . . houses, cars, and all the other things we depend on to survive. It didn’t just happen. God looked down and said, “I choose to do this for all the people that will one day walk the face of the earth.”

That’s exciting! It’s time to lift our hands and praise him now! When we are grateful unto God, he will continue to shower us with good things.

God is the source of all that we have, and he deserves our praise!
