Years ago, we either paid by cash or check.
The digital world was a future dream, and credit card impressions were imprinted into paper, if we could use them at all.
Businesses had to verify our name. If we wrote a check, we provided two separate forms of identification.
We had to guarantee our signature. We had to prove who we were.
God still has that requirement. He’s there for us when we call upon him, but there’s something we must do. God wants us to prove we’re his children.
How? Psalm 50:15 gives us the answer.
“And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”
God is willing to cash our check. He has no problem with that. This verse tells us he will deliver us. No waffling about, he will be there to provide what we need.
We validate our signature by glorifying him.
How do we do that?
- Join in the songs at church.
- Raise our hands.
- Speak a prayer over our meals.
- Give credit to God when good things happen.
- Live a life that emulates Jesus.
We will face trouble with the morning sun and wrestle with problems as the day winds down. That won’t change no matter how long we live. What’s important is that we turn to God for our deliverance. When we glorify him, he will cash our check every time.
God lifts us up when we live by his standards.
