Many people think of Sunday as the Lord’s day.
Others look to Saturday, as it’s the seventh day of the week.
The day we offer to God is less important than giving him time out of our week. Whether Sunday or Saturday, or even another day if that’s what our work schedule demands, God looks at our heart, not at a rigid plan that has no flexibility for human need.
We must offer to God what we have. In the story of the widow’s mites, she gave less than the rich man, but she offered unto God all that she possessed.
Maybe midnight to two is all we have. If we give it willingly in prayer and worship to the Father, his heart will be tender toward us.
Exodus 20:21 reveals the reason for setting aside time unto him:
“For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.”
The Lord rested from his labors, and therefore that time became special. When we rest from our labors and offer our time unto God, it becomes infused with God’s anointing. It will renew us in soul, spirit, and body.
Our Sunday must be offered unto God no matter the day of the week on which it falls.
