On Our Knees Before God

How we look at things can determine our happiness in life.

By that we mean our circumstances can’t dictate our frame of mind, unless we let them. When we find small things we can be thankful for, we change our thought patterns, and we find happiness whatever road life takes us down.

We’ll find that our gratitude formulates our attitude. If we’re grateful for the good things, then we’ll begin to find the good in the things we complain about. Our attitude will improve, our gratitude will increase, and we’ll be happier all around.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 says being thankful even in the bad times is our start down the road towards happiness.

“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Psalm 19:14 tells us every word we speak should be filled with gratitude unto God, for he will find our attitude refreshing and pleasing in his sight.

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”

Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us that our peace (and our happiness) flows from the Father when we place our trust in him.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

When we fall on our knees in gratitude, God will elevate our attitude and give us a peace that passes all understanding.
