The Best That There Is

Jesus came with a message that the world had never heard before. He said, “I am the Truth, the Light, and the Way.” He went on to say that there was no other way to the Father than through him.

Yet, for millennia mankind had been worshipping deities of all sorts. Were they all wrong? Had their leaders intentionally led their people astray?

In the book of Revelation, John recorded the most profound critique of the human condition any man had ever been given. He spieled the words that would one day become the final book of the Bible, creating a tome that resonates across the centuries, affecting Christians from generation to generation. In Revelation 17:1, he meets one of the seven angels carrying the seven vials, and the angel reveals the devastation that the myriad religions of mankind have brought upon the world. Those that have followed the great adulteress have been blinded by their desire for selfish pleasure.

Jesus’ words were filled with truth when he claimed that no one could come to God except through the Son. When we follow Jesus, we must follow in fullness, in spirit, and in truth. We cannot choose the parts of the Word that appeal to us and toss the rest aside. If we only follow what feels good, then we have begun to step from the light of Jesus into the darkness of the world. We cannot choose our own way. There is only one way, and that way is Jesus.

Jesus said it best. “I am the Truth, the Light, and the Way.” We can do no better than to follow him in everything we do.

When we find Jesus, we find the best that there is.
