Overcoming by the Blood of the Lamb

Blood sounds gruesome, but in some cases, it’s beautiful.

Have you tried blood sausage? You might think, “Yech!” but wait until you try it. In much of the world, it’s a prized delicacy made from rice, thickened with blood, and filled with spicy flavor.

Slice it and fry it up, and you’ll enjoy it going down.

Another great use of blood is smashing the devil to the ground!

Revelation 12:11 in the NKJV tells us:

“So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, ‘Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.’”

This is a very long verse, so let’s pull out the blood part.

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony …”

Overcame him … wait! Overcame whom? We’re talking the devil, here. The blood of the Lamb, the blood Jesus shed on the cross, has smashed the devil, crushed him to pieces, and brought us the victory!

It’s okay, you can start cheering now! This is the season for your victory in Christ, for he is triumphant! The devil is defeated, and we are empowered with the strength of our Lord and Savior to overcome all that this world can bring against us!

Christ is our redeemer, and through him, we can do all things in his name!
