The Life of Royalty

To be royalty is to have it all. We say the son of a king is born with a silver spoon in his mouth. To be treated like a princess is to be pampered with gifts and accolades.

Nothing is better than life as a member of a royal family.

Want to give it a go? It’s available to every one of us.

John 1:1 tells us about the greatest ruler of antiquity, a true king of every domain he could envision:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

Isaiah 7:14 says God will create a bridge between the almighty King and his creation:

“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

Luke 2:7 reveals our Lord’s first moments on earth, royalty come to live among the common people:

“And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.”

Revelation 1:5 lays out his provenance as King of all kings, yet filled with love for humanity:

“And from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood.”

Luke 22:69 places Jesus firmly in the royal house of the Creator, returned to sit at his Father’s side, where we shall one day reign with him.

“But from now on the Son of Man shall be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”

When we accept Jesus as our savior, he places a silver spoon in our mouth. It is filled with his salvation, every promise in the Bible, and the assurance that we will be at his side for all eternity. We are made sons and daughters, princes and princesses of the greatest king that ever lived.

We have become part of the royal family, God’s family; and nothing can be better than that.

Living like a king is as easy as saying, “Jesus, come into my heart today.”
