You’ve likely never heard of Ruthie Lindsay.
At age 17, her car was hit by an ambulance traveling 65 mph.
Her life went downhill from there. She spent her 20s mostly bedridden after a wire from her spinal cord fusion broke and pierced her brain stem.
During this, her father passed away, she became addicted to pain killers, and depression stalked her every move. Only after making a major life change (additional surgery, moving home and weaning herself off narcotics) did Lindsay’s life begin to turn around.
Lindsay says she has learned to find both joy and beauty in brokenness and today is a renowned speaker, author and host of the podcast Unspoken.
Romans 5:1-2 says:
“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
What has crushed your life? Where have things gone wrong for you? What is so bad you have no option but to throw in the towel?
We can know the peace of Jesus Christ. It comes through faith in the Lord, and through our faith, we can rejoice in our hope of the glory of God.
How do we find faith in Christ? It starts with salvation, which is accepting that we don’t have the answers, Christ does, and we are willing to allow him charge of our life.
Some people call it the sinner’s prayer. It involves a change of heart.
Give Jesus a chance. He wants to form a meaningful relationship with you.
