Five Christmas Wishes for This Year

Christmas is a time of joy, of new beginnings, and of sharing our love with others.

The Bible gives us five special wishes during this holiday season.

Our First Christmas Wish:

John 1:29 tells us: “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”

The wrongs we’ve done, the mistakes we’ve made, they are dissolved by the power of the Lamb of God.

Our Second Christmas Wish:

John 1:5 offers this promise: “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.”

The sorrow and pain of death is vanquished. We have heaven in our future when we accept salvation through the Son.

Our Third Christmas Wish:

Proverbs 17:22 provides encouragement: “A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.”

This is an either/or situation. Our smiles warm others and us, but our frown can as easily take them down.

Our Fourth Christmas Wish:

Romans 12:10 instructs us: “Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.”

No more empty smiles. When we find true joy in each other, we will be renewed in our relationships.

Our Fifth Christmas Wish:

Matthew 2:10 says to start now: “When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.”

Stepping into joy begins today. Treating others with honor is for now. We must be merry in our Christianity in the moment, for our joy in the Lord has already begun.

When we show Christ’s love to those around us, we will feel loved in return.

If something leads us astray, toss it aside and leave it on the side of the road.
