Our Righteous Rain

English Audio Version

A story appeared on the Internet recently.

A young man turned sixteen and was given a used car to drive. He fell in love with the car and used it to drive to his new job.

His sister married and moved across the country, and the young man’s family offered her his larger, more dependable car to make the drive.

He got her old and beat-up one.

On the trip, the young man’s car broke down, and his sister and her new husband sold it to a junkyard for a down payment on another one. The sixteen-year-old young man was devastated.

Fast forward fifty years. The young man, now elderly, saw one just like his old car in a parking lot. He had his son take a picture of him standing next to the car. Tears flooded his eyes.

Later that same car pulled into his driveway. His son had already purchased it for his father as a tribute to what he’d given up all those years ago.

Isaiah 45:8 says:

“Shower, O heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain down righteousness; let the earth open, that salvation and righteousness may bear fruit; let the earth cause them both to sprout; I the Lord have created it.”

Our righteous life will return to us in showers of blessings. Our deeds will bear fruit. The Lord will reward us for our endurance and acts of kindness and consideration.

Nothing goes unnoticed by God. Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, God’s righteous rain is ready to fall on us, and good things will sprout up all around.

What we do for others, God will return to us as his special blessing.
