We can’t hesitate.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 reveals the immediacy of God’s appointed time for all things:
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:”
The time to step out for Christ is now. He has appointed all things to their appropriate time, and we cannot hesitate to spread his good news.
“…a time to be born, and a time to die;”
New life comes for all men through Christ our Lord.
“…a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;”
The harvest of souls is awaiting our response to the Master.
“…a time to kill, and a time to heal;”
He offered his hand of healing to all who call upon him.
“…a time to break down, and a time to build up;”
Our walk with Christ is a relational one where we build up our fellow believers.
“…a time to weep, and a time to laugh;”
Laughter is the best sort of pain relief, especially for the hurting Christian.
“…a time to mourn, and a time to dance;”
When we dance in Christ, the whole world sees our devotion to him.
“…a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;”
We all live in glass houses. Kindness is better than accusation.
“…a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;”
Compassion for those in pain is the surest way to their hearts.
“…a time to seek, and a time to lose;”
To turn loose of the world to seek Christ is our highest endeavor.
“…a time to keep, and a time to cast away;”
We need to cast off anything that keeps us from following Christ.
“…a time to tear, and a time to sew;”
Christ is the thread that binds us together, when we are woven in love.
“…a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;”
We are the voice of Christ to a broken, hurting world.
“…a time to love, and a time to hate;”
We love the person and hate the sin. It’s how Jesus lived.
“…a time for war, and a time for peace.”
We are to be peacemakers for Christ, and warriors for the kingdom of God.
Take the first step. Reach out to others. Mention Christ to a neighbor, on the train, in the subway, at the mall. When Jesus provides an opportunity to minister for him, simply do it.
Our time to reach the world for Christ is now.
