Pipeline from God

Water towers are cool. Whether rising on spindly legs, tottering in the sky, or held up by a massive base of concrete and steel, water towers define a location simply because of their size and visibility.

Sometimes water towers are disguised with paint, logos, or even enveloped in other structures. Salt Lake City’s Trolley Square water tower is wrapped in neon light. In Allen, Texas, their water tower anchors a city park. An 1870s Venetian Gothic water tower in South East London was transformed into a four bedroom home.

God is our water tower, marking the center of our world, and drawing all eyes unto him. Yet, sometimes we don’t recognize him for what he is, and because of that, we never hook into him to receive his promised blessings.

We need to get connected with a pipeline running from us directly to God. Here’s what will flood our lives once our pipeline is fully functional:

Isaiah 7:14 reveals our first blast of cooling, precious water:

“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

Colossians 1:2 is a drink of peace straight from the tap:

“To the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father.”

John 14:26 says we can fill as many glasses as we want:

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”

John 14:6 invites us to fill up the tub and take a soak:

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’ ”

Daniel 2:44 says our water tower will one day be our home:

“And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever.”

Charlie Chaplin once lived in that South East London water tower. It’s now an ultra-modern flat with 360 degree views of the city. Who wouldn’t want to live there?

God’s water tower is even more impressive. We call it heaven, and once we tie in, the Father’s love will flow to us through a pipeline that will barely contain his blessings.

When we connect to God, we open a channel from him that will fill us up every day.

Excerpt of the Day

A promise to the devil can be laughed off when we have Jesus standing at our side. A promise from the devil is worthless, and should be laughed off even faster.
