Leave It With Jesus

Even the person who walks straight and true for his entire life will have made mistakes, fallen, and inadvertently damaged the lives of others. Apologize and move on.

(1 Peter 1:22 ESV)

Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart.

We can’t avoid offending some people.

They are looking for barbs to catch on their sour attitudes, and we can’t keep out of their way.

No matter how hard we try.

Our only option is to make sure our lives are lived to a holy standard, to be kind in our words, speak softly when we must confront someone, and have a thick skin when others lash out at us.

Then we apologize for any offense we’ve caused, and we let it go. We are travelers in this life. Yesterday is another country, and all the borders are closed. We can’t relive the day that’s already done. We leave with Jesus the hurts others can’t release, and we move forward into tomorrow’s success with a clear conscience and a pure heart.

Excerpt of the Day

Disbelief is fine. Refusing to move past it when confronted with the truth cuts God to the quick.
