5 Wealth Nuggets from Proverbs

English Audio Version

Hear ye, hear ye, read all about it.

There’s more money out there than the world knows how to spend.

That sounds silly, but it’s true. The richest people in the world literally can’t give away their money fast enough. By the time they’ve sorted out who deserves a few hundred million a year, their accounts have already increased by more than they’ve given away.

Then there’s the rest of us, working hard for each dollar and wondering why God’s not paying attention to how much we would benefit from a nice lottery payout.

Here are 5 Wealth Nuggets from Proverbs to help you see money from God’s eyes.

Wealth Nugget No. 1:

Proverbs 15:16 says money is not the cure-all that assures happiness.

“Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble with it.”

Wealth Nugget No. 2:

Proverbs 22:2 tells us our personal worth isn’t determined by our bank accounts.

“The rich and the poor meet together; the Lord is the Maker of them all.”

Wealth Nugget No. 3:

Proverbs 11:28 cautions us about trusting in cash as our safety net.

“Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf.”

Wealth Nugget No. 4:

Proverbs 28:20 assures us God will bless us financially when we put him first.

“A faithful man will abound with blessings, but whoever hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.”

Wealth Nugget No. 5:

Proverbs 11:4 guarantees that trusting in the Lord triumphs over riches every time.

“Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.”

The riches are still out there. Perhaps you have your share. Here’s the thing: We can’t lose sight of our long-term goal. It’s better to bank on God, for he is our rescue in the time of the storm.

When our eye is on God, money will take second place to our relationship with him.
