So, you’re not rich, yet.
You’ve come to Christ, become his follower, and you still have the same car you drove before you accepted him as your savior.
What’s up, God? Where are the riches we’re supposed to have?
God smiles at our question. It’s too silly for a response. He’s already told us where our wealth comes from.
We only need to look in the Bible to find God’s message to us about prosperity and how it can become ours.
Prosperity Proverb No. 1:
Proverbs 15:6 tells us living by the rules makes us rich.
“In the house of the righteous there is much treasure, but trouble befalls the income of the wicked.”
We can become rich by deceit. It works. Just look at the people who are in power today.
However, God says those riches will eat us alive. Peace doesn’t belong to the wicked.
Prosperity Proverb No. 2:
Proverbs 22:4 tells us we must respect the laws of the Lord to be rich.
“The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life.”
If we want to be respected, live a long, good life, and have everything we need, we must cast our pride in the garbage and live by God’s standards.
When we lift up the Lord, we are lifted up with him.
Prosperity Proverb No. 3:
Proverbs 8:18-19 tells us riches can’t compete with the goodness of God.
“Riches and honor are with me, enduring wealth and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, even fine gold, and my yield than choice silver.”
If all we care for is wealth, it’s too easy to let God slip by the wayside. Our bank balance is only a small part of who we are.
God will satisfy us as pocket change never will. Having the biggest house, the shiniest car, and the best hairstyle will leave us empty without God at our side.
The world tells us to gain wealth at any cost. The Bible says we must put God first. We can’t afford to put the wrong priority at the top of our to-do list.
We are wealthy in the world when we become wealthy in God.
