So you’re broke.
I mean really broke. Your pockets have holes, and every dollar you receive is gone simply to survive.
You must beg, wheedle, and endure desperation just to get to tomorrow.
You might even have a job, and your finances are so tight, you wonder if it’s worth it.
The Bible gives us 8 views on why you’re okay in God’s eyes.
Psalm 72:12-13 tells you God is your helper.
“For he delivers the needy when he calls, the poor and him who has no helper. He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the lives of the needy.”
Psalm 107:41 says your family is your treasure.
“But he raises up the needy out of affliction and makes their families like flocks.”
Psalm 69:33 assures you God hears your prayers no matter the depths of your trouble.
“For the Lord hears the needy and does not despise his own people who are prisoners.”
Jeremiah 20:13 promises you protection from your abusers.
“Sing to the Lord; praise the Lord! For he has delivered the life of the needy from the hand of evildoers.”
Psalm 102:17 is your call not to give up on God.
“He regards the prayer of the destitute and does not despise their prayer.”
Psalm 113:7 guarantees your future will turn around.
“He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap.”
Psalm 132:15 is your assurance of food on the table.
“I will abundantly bless her provisions; I will satisfy her poor with bread.”
Psalm 68:10 is God’s pledge to provide good things for you.
“… In your goodness, O God, you provided for the needy.”
These verses don’t promise you a magic cornucopia of instant riches. That’s not God’s way.
What you do get is the surety bond that your future isn’t to be poor, not if you want to change it.
God is writing your story right now. Your choices help him write you into a better place. Until then, he’s “got your back.”
God is there to guide you along the way.
Keep your eyes on the Master, not on the struggles you must overcome.
