Why Plant a Financial Seed?

English Audio Version

Money is hard to turn loose of.

Once we have it, it’s ours. We control it. It’s for our good and no one else’s.

What good is money that we give away? It doesn’t do us any good.

Or does it?

Think about it like a gardener. If we never plant, we never get to reap the beauty that will one day be ours.

Let’s look at five biblical reasons to plant a financial seed.

Genesis 8:22 says:

“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”

The financial cycle of investment and return is an established investment principle. We give money to our investment team, and we know it will come back to us. It works the same with God.

James 1:17 says:

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”

God is good to his word. He loves giving us gifts. When we invest in his work, he will repay us with many good things.

Jeremiah 40:12 says:

“Then all the Judeans returned from all the places to which they had been driven and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah at Mizpah. And they gathered wine and summer fruits in great abundance.”

Everything we do will earn us a reward. If we invest in God, we will reap an excellent bonus from the Father.

Proverbs 10:5 says:

“He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.”

Now is our time to further the work of God. We move into his arena when we have money available to us. That’s how it works. We invest what we have. God expands it. It returns to us in magnified blessings.

Proverbs 30:25 says:

“The ants are a people not strong, yet they provide their food in the summer.”

We increase God’s work a small amount at a time. God doesn’t expect us to break the bank. He wants us to be steady investors in him.

Take your paycheck. How much can you entrust to the Lord? That’s your financial seed. Like planting a kernel of corn, what you offer unto him will come back to you magnified many times.

Our time to plant our seed is now. Let’s invest today.
