Isaiah, prophet of old, is a stalwart rock of faith in the Old Testament. His nuggets of wisdom still ring true in our modern world. Let’s look at Isaiah 58:11 for 6 exciting truths to build up our walk with the Lord.
“The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.” (NKJV)
Exciting Truth No. 1: “The Lord will guide you continually.”
Our steps are ordered by him. When our focus is on God, he will not lead us astray.
Exciting Truth No. 2: He will “satisfy your soul in drought.”
When we face spiritual struggles, he watches out for us. When we need his touch, he is there.
Exciting Truth No. 3: He will “strengthen your bones.”
In our weakness, he is our strength. With God, there is no “I can’t” but only an “I can.”
Exciting Truth No. 4: “You shall be like a watered garden.”
Every part of who we are will prosper. In our family, our finances, and our relationship with God, we can be confident in him.
Exciting Truth No. 5: You shall be “like a spring of water.”
God intends to bless you so much that the blessing overflows onto everyone around you. God’s blessings to you will bless them also.
Exciting Truth No. 6: Your “waters [shall] not fail.”
You have tapped into an eternal source. Life is fragile. Living is dangerous. The potholes along the road of life are deep, but through your relationship with God, you become the salt of the earth and the source of inspiration that can lead others to Christ.
Isaiah lived in a harsh time, and he found his faith unmoved in difficult situations. When we stand on God’s Word, we also become stalwart rocks of faith to those who are watching us.
