Erasing the Shadows

There are computer programs that can take your dark, dreary photograph and make it bright and cheerful.

Are your vacation shots murky? Click, click, no more! They now reflect the images in your memory!

Has a bright window darkened your photo and filled it with shadows? Layer in the light with a photo editing program, and that window will fade into the background. It takes a skilled person—an expert—but your image will look picture perfect.

That’s God, our life-expert, the one who can take our murky life, layer in the light, and make us picture perfect.

1 John 1:5 states:

“This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”

That argument with your spouse? God’s brilliance shines brighter.

That car you cut off in traffic? God says, “Let me brighten that spot in your day.”

The times you messed up, stumbled, were cross with a coworker … God doesn’t say it’s okay, but he offers you hope that you will survive, you can make amends, and he will be with you through it all.

Even when you must apologize, be kinder, step up and take the responsibility for who you are.

God is our brighter—and better—path. When we walk with him, every step we take will be in the light of his presence in our lives.

Your better life can start today. God can improve your image one shadow one at a time.
