Science fiction fans love to imagine what’s next.
Computer intelligence taken to the next level. What will it be like?
Self-driving cars … will they even need us as backup operators?
And our homes, spaceships all, floating in the clouds on the merest tether of technology.
We want it to be fantastic, a trip to the stars, filled with dreams of long life, magic-like inventions, and more things to do than we can ever get done.
God’s way ahead of us. He’s already Looking Forward to Our Fantastic Future.
1 Corinthians 2:9 says:
“But, as it is written, ‘What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him’—”
Computer intelligence? We can look forward to God intelligence, smart enough to create an entire universe.
Self-driving cars? We won’t need cars where we’re going. We’ll fly with the wings of angels.
Floating home? We will live along streets of gold, in a land anchored by the bright and shining God of Creation.
Science fiction fans aren’t thinking big enough. God says we can’t even imagine how fantastic our future will be.
When we stick with God, we’ll go places we could never dream.
