2 Phrases God Wants Us to Learn

English Audio Version

Words carry importance.

What we say can define who we are.

Just ask a politician. If they let the wrong word slip, it can be twisted out of shape by the press, and their political aspirations can be channeled into a trash can.

Words can also build up, give instructions, or direct us to a better life.

God has 2 phrases he wants us to learn. When we get them into our heart and mind, we will become different in Christ, and we will make spiritual strides in leaps and bounds.

There will be no limit to what we can do in the name of Jesus.

Luke 24:49 reveals our 2 Power Phrases that will change us forever.

“And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

This verse is a wonderful treatise on the way God works, and if we read it as it stands, it’s a powerful word from God.

However, let’s pull out our 2 Power Phrases and apply them to our walk with Jesus.

Power Phrase No. 1:  I am sending you the promise of my Father.

Wow, is that ever powerful! Jesus, the son of the almighty God, is sending us, his followers, the promise and the assurance of the Creator of the Universe.

If we stopped there, we could have a praise meeting right here. But we’re not finished yet, because we have another phrase God wants us to learn.

Power Phrase No. 2:  Stay until you are clothed with power from on high.

Here, God’s saying to quit trying to get ahead of him. He’s got a plan, and we need to wait on it. If we do, then we’ll have a breakout time together, and we won’t believe what we can do in him.

Is this sinking in? To ensure this hits home, let’s summarize our Power Phrases so we can get our head around them.

  • The promises of God are already ours.
  • We must wait on God before our promises can manifest in us.

When the promises fall all around us, we’ll jump and shout with excitement. Remember the Upper Room at Pentecost? The Holy Spirit fell on the disciples, and more than 3,000 souls were saved!

God has a plan, and we can find success with him today.
