Protection is vital for our safety.
We put firewalls on our electronics to keep hackers from our personal information.
Windows keep the storms outside, roofs keep us dry, and fences keep wild animals at bay.
We insure everything so that if something’s lost, we can afford to replace it.
What about our relationship with Christ? How do we protect that?
Psalm 118:6 tells it wonderfully:
“The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
This verse should make us rejoice. What can man do to me?
Our God provides us a way out, protects us from the evil one, and never leaves us nor forsakes us. He upholds us with his righteous right hand and guards us with his understanding. He is our refuge, our protection, our deliverer, and our ever-present help in trouble. He shadows us under his wing and is our fortress against our attacker.
Our God is our rock, our refuge, and the horn of our salvation.
What can man do to us? The Lord is our shepherd, and in him, we lack nothing. His goodness and love will follow us all the days of our lives.
When God’s arms encircle us, he is our mighty armor so that we can stand firm against the world.
