Your Pain Will Be Redeemed

English Audio Version

“Aw, God! Just take my pain away.”

Yet, let’s look at the secular musical artist Nate Feuerstein. He grew up immersed in mental suffering and physical pain. After his parents divorced, he lived with his mother, whose struggle with opioid addiction led to Nate being abused. Then, his mother passed away from an overdose.

He turned to rap as a child, recording himself on a karaoke machine. He began his career with the rapper name NF while performing at a festival organized by a local church after graduating high school. His music became a medium to process his trauma.

He had two albums (2017 and 2019) debut at #1 on the Billboard 200, and his music is now featured in major video games and TV broadcasts like WWE’s Monday Night Raw.

His painful past and his vulnerability resonates with his listeners. Would he have the same success without his pain?

Here’s what God says in Romans 8:28:

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him …”

Pain is a part of the human condition.  Our pain isn’t wasted, not if we have a personal connection with God. God will never discount our pain; rather, he redeems it. He takes what is meant to harm us and he turns it around to our benefit.

That rough childhood? You can survive in situations that would crush others!

That financial setback? You know how to hustle when others are still checking their fingernails!

That personal conflict … storm damage … job loss … yeah, you’ve been there, and that means you’ve got this. God is working behind the scenes, and he refuses to let you fall behind.

You can trust in him when you have your hand in the hand of the Almighty God!
