Our Thirsting Quenched by God

Where do you feel undone?

What’s lacking in your life?

That college degree that you started and never finished?

A romance that you hoped would bring you a spouse?

Or a child you could never conceive?

Maybe you feel undone by job opportunities that have passed you by. At one time, your skills were in demand, but now, technology has stolen that from you.

God’s Word tells us that God’s opportunities never pass us by, for he is the opportunity giver, the giver of gifts, and reviving moisture in the time of thirst.

Read with us in Zechariah 10:1 in the NIV:

“Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime; it is the Lord who sends the thunderstorms. He gives showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone.”

Here’s the takeaway from this verse. We must ask.

Yes, this puts the onus on us. God doesn’t randomly look across his creation and say, “Ah, a little thirst quenching here, a little there, and oh, over there, let’s give some there.”

No, God wants us to be intentional. If we seek educational opportunities, seek God’s direction … then jump on every education opportunity that comes your way. Chase it like it is meant to be … because it is.

No spouse? Shift your focus. Be the best aunt, uncle, or friend you can be.

If your marriage needs a child for you to feel fulfilled, consider adoption. Lots of kiddos grow up unloved, and you can be the parent that provides that love.

Understand that God wants the best in life for you. Your part is to initiate his blessing in your life. How? Ask, believe, and step into each opportunity he sends your way.

God wants to quench your thirst. Your opportunity is today.
