Tossing the Turmoil

Changes.

We can’t avoid them.

Remember graduation from high school?  The friends we knew were scattered … college, marriage, jobs on the coast … and we had to make new friends.

That promotion that required us to relocate … our family now lived across the country … and we had to fight the loneliness.

A new church …  retirement … volunteering as a missionary in ANOTHER COUNTRY! Did we make a mistake?

We begin to flounder, we lose our footing, and we look back with longing for what we once had …

God says he has new things lined up for YOU.

Let’s read in Luke 21:30:

“When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.”

Would you want to remain in high school forever? Hold to the memories, but God has a whole life to carry you through.

Do you actually want to be a cashier at a fast-food restaurant for 40 years? That’s why we have cell phones, airplanes, and email. Use them.

A new church, moving to a retirement community, even living in another country, you have God’s vision for your new life lined up and waiting on YOU!

The best of your life is “nigh at hand.” That means RIGHT NOW. Toss the turmoil of indecision, of regret, of looking back with longing. God offers you TOMORROW, and when you walk with HIM, your tomorrow will be the best TODAY you’ve ever lived!
