Overcoming Our Worst Life

Life bombards us.

Take Tiffany Haddish, actress and comedian.

She is a published author and an Emmy Award winner. She has risen to the top of her game.

Yet, Haddish spent years in foster care. She was separated from her siblings. Even as she worked to establish her career, she lived in her car.

Assault, homelessness, divorce. It seemed life was determined to crush her into dust.

Yet, Haddish learned to survive by making people laugh. She says she came from nothing and achieved her dreams by using her pain to heal others.

What has life thrown at you? At what point have you been tempted to hold up your hands and give up?

1 Kings 2:3 tells us:

“Observe what the LORD your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go.”

Haddish’s path might not be yours, yet you do have a road to success laid before you. It’s starts with salvation. We continue our journey to success through prayer, time in the Word, and keeping our eyes on Jesus.

Rise to the top of your game. Jesus will be your companion along the way.
