Nights can grow dark.
In the Far North, the sun is shadowed by the earth for months at a time.
When life goes awry, it seems like the lights have gone out completely. Our bills will never be paid. Our health will pull us down. We will never find that perfect woman … or man.
Yet.
Let me repeat that. Yet, yet, yet, God says things are not over. There is light on the other side of the darkness.
The sun will rise again, and you will bask in the warmth of his glory.
1 Peter 1:13 encourages you to never give up hope.
“Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
Do these things during the darkness:
- Prepare for action.
- Stay focused on God’s plan.
- Keep your hopes high.
How can you do these when the blackness threatens to overwhelm you? Here are three ways.
1. Spend time with other believers.
2. Join a Bible study (and participate).
3. Thank God daily for what he’s promised to do for you.
You are going to make it through. God is your strength. Jesus is at your side through every hour.
Your morning is coming. God says it’s already on the way.
