The next time you’re on the East Coast, there’s a restaurant you must visit.
Foode (yes, that’s the name of the dining establishment) is in an old Fredericksburg, Virginia, bank building.
The old bank vault is there (and open) for everyone to see. It’s massive, revealing the level of security that was provided for the bank’s patrons.
Does not God consider us as more important than a few coins and bills? Are we not more important than jewels and gold?
Psalm 28:7-8 tells us WE CERTAINLY ARE!
Get a table next to that old bank vault, and you’ll be impressed by its size, the thickness of its door, and the sheer amount of metal used in its construction.
Get on your knees next to God, and his protecting power will BLOW YOU AWAY!
“The Lord is my strength and my shield;”
Whoop! Whoop! Stand up and cheer! He’s stronger than a bank vault!
“In him my heart trusts, and I am helped;”
He is our secure foundation and our eternal rest. We have no worries when we are wrapped up in him.
“My heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”
He is our joy and our consolation. Our hearts sing with praise for his magnificence in all things.
“The Lord is the strength of his people;”
He is our strong arm and fist of power. The devil trembles at the mention of his name.
“He is the saving refuge of his anointed.”
Our salvation and our protection in God are inextricably linked. When we accept his salvation, his refuge becomes a part of who we are.
Let’s say it one more time! The Lord is my strength and shield!
When we remain next to God, we’re in the safest place we can find.
