Kiddos can be a mess.
There’s no end to the mischief they can dream up.
Golf balls in the toilet. Toilet paper trailed through the house. Mud everywhere.
Even our dinner table is no safety zone. One sneeze, and our meal is contaminated. Literally. Who wants to eat that?
So, what good are children?
Acts 16:31 says they are saved along with their parents.
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
Acts 2:39 tells us the promises that flow from God to us also flow to our children.
“For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”
Isaiah 54:13 says our children will be at peace when we teach them of the Lord.
“All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.”
Isaiah 44:3 tells us our children become our legacy through the blessings of the Lord.
“For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.
Are children a mess? Absolutely.
They are also an opportunity. Let’s recap the four gifts that flow through us unto our children.
1. They receive God’s salvation through our faith in Christ.
2. God’s promises to us are also to our children.
3. The truth of God will bring our children peace.
4. Our legacy in Christ is found in our children.
Our children need our love. They are God’s gift unto us. Let’s treasure them daily.
Jesus welcomed the children. Let’s hold out our hands, also.
