What are you worth?
Can you place a price on yourself?
Tally it this way:
How many meals do you provide for your family each year?
What’s the total funds you bring in through your job?
How about the times you mow the yard … clean the bathrooms … drop the kids off at school … play the part of nurse, teacher, errand boy/girl for school projects …
What value do other people find in you, even if they don’t realize all the good you bring into their lives? Or maybe we should ask what value they should find in you.
You see, we all have value, even when we feel valueless. There is good we do, even when those around us are too busy to notice it.
God’s not too busy to notice you and all that you do. He finds the value in you, and he won’t let go of you at any price, no matter what you think robs your value.
Philippians 4:6-7 tells us to not look down on our situation, because GOD VALUES US:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
God is telling us that he doesn’t overlook our worth, and that he wants us to approach him through prayer and petition.
1 Peter 5:7 says it especially well:
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
Yes, it’s that simple. That traffic ticket? The threats from your boss? The bank account that always runs out of money before you run out of month? ALL OF IT.
Cast your concerns on the LORD because he will never let go of you.
