What’s a buoy good for?
That’s easy. We can mark underwater obstacles to keep ourselves safe.
We can also tie up to them so that our boat doesn’t float away in the current.
God is our sturdy buoy in both senses. He guides us through the treacherous paths we travel and gives us a sense of security when the current grows strong and the waves press against us.
Lamentations 3:23 says it best:
“Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”
No matter how dark our nights, God is there for us when the sun once more breaks across the horizon. With the morning, we once more see the mercies of God overflow our problems.
Here’s a trick: Trust him … trust him … trust him.
See? That was easy. God is faithful, for in him, there is no shortcoming to be found.
So, tie up to God. He will keep you safe. You need have no fear when he is your anchor.
