Are you still grappling with finding God?
Is he distant to you, a thing of knowledge but not a companion of your heart?
You want God to be your soulmate, to be able to share your fears with him, and still, you know nights of loneliness and fear?
2 Corinthians 13:11 gives you 5 ways to draw God in so that you can be wrapped up in his love and his peace:
“Finally, brethren, rejoice, be made complete, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.”
Our 1st Way to Draw God In:
Rejoice. That’s simple. Be happy in the Lord. Thank him for things he does for you. Your paycheck, your family, crossing the street without being hit by a car … you’re seeing it.
Our 2nd Way to Draw God In:
Be Made Complete. Do what makes you happy. Follow your dreams. Find your Christian niche in Christ and do your best to fulfill it.
Our 3rd Way to Draw God In:
Be Comforted. Find rest in God. Let his words spoken through the Bible and through your fellow believers be a balm to the rough places in your life so you can find rest in the Lord.
Our 4th Way to Draw God In:
Be Like-Minded. Align yourself with others in the faith. Learn the tenets of your doctrine and see if they align with the Word. Support and be supported by others of similar beliefs.
Our 5th Way to Draw God In:
Live in Peace. Show kindness, generosity, and patience. Trust in God. Worry about nothing. Let the Father be the master of your fate.
God is our source of love and peace. When we follow these five principles, this verse tells us the Lord will be drawn unto us, and we will know his love and peace.
You can count on it.
