And the Wind Blows

Facing trouble is a daily occurrence for many of us.

Sick children. The icemaker floods the freezer. We trip and tear our shirt on the way to work.

And that’s just the morning. We must still navigate donut jelly, computer glitches, and that report we filed last week that’s disappeared in the company email system.

We want to ask, “God, are you paying attention?”

He says yes in Psalm 9:9-10:

“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”

We might still wake at 2 AM with a sick child, but God is there.

The mechanical systems in our house, that rough spot in the sidewalk, even the jelly donuts … those are part of life. They aren’t fun, but they go along with living.

God is there with us during each challenge we face each day.

The wind might blow, but with it comes the fragrant aroma of the presence of our mighty God. We can know his peace no matter what comes our way.
