The word wired in the title has nothing to do with electricity.
This is a method of constructing the strongest possible wall. A way to take bits and pieces and make them sturdier than even the largest stone can be.
First, take some wire, say, chain link. Form it into a box. Then fill it with rocks. Small rocks, odd rocks, even ugly rocks. Rocks of all colors and origins.
Then stack the chain link boxes one atop the other, and they form a sturdy wall that will hold back almost anything.
Here’s the secret to the strength of these walls. The chain link holds the rocks together, and the spaces between the oddly sized rocks in these boxes allow water and sediment (dirt) to flow right through.
That’s what Christ does for us. He is the wire, we are the rocks, and when we are in him, all the junk of life flows on past, and we are held securely in him right where he has planted us.
Ephesians 2:22 in the International Standard Version says it best:
“You, too, are being built in him, along with the others, into a place for God's Spirit to dwell.”
One stone at a time. One experience at a time. One prayer at a time. One saint of God at a time. One church at a time. One success at a time. One prayer meeting at a time.
God packs us in, one next to the other, and we are stronger with those at our side. Surrounding us is Jesus, our wire cage, the chain link that keeps us secure in him.
Jesus is our strength. When we are wrapped tightly in him, no storm can harm us. Every bad thing will wash on past, and in Jesus, we’ll be stronger than before.
Trust in Jesus. He is the strength that binds us into the strong foundation on which his church stands.
