We don’t have to question a compass.
We don’t ask it, “Where do you want me to go today?”
There’s no intent in a compass’ needle. We can’t influence the direction it points by our will or desire.
The needle will always point the same direction, north.
We don’t have to understand the compass. It works, and that’s all we need to know for it to lead us home.
Proverbs 3:5-6 gives us our spiritual compass:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Here are the four points on our spiritual compass:
Point No. 1: Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
We don’t even consider that God might fail. His way is the only one.
Point No. 2: Do not lean on your own understanding.
God sees the bigger picture. When he says move, just do it.
Point No. 3: In all your ways acknowledge him.
God must be allowed along on every part of our journey. He is our all-consuming focus.
Point No. 4: He will make straight your paths.
Distractions will fade away when we keep our attention on Jesus.
Life will throw obstructions in our way. Our spiritual compass helps us see past all obstructions. Jesus is waiting. Let’s keep marching toward him.
We are on the right path when we follow the Jesus path.
