Kids get used to the word no.
It’s part of their listening vocabulary. Don’t touch that. You can’t go there. Hands off. No. No, no, no.
Sometimes God tells us the same. No, don’t do that. Keep your hands off. Just no, already.
Then there are the times he tells us yes. He says to go for it, that our time is now, and we have his backing to step forward into our success.
Here are 5 yes verses directly from the Word of God.
Romans 15:5 says yes! You will be filled with endurance and encouragement toward your fellow Christians.
“May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus.”
James 1:25 says yes! You will be blessed in all that you do.
“But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.”
Romans 15:13 says yes! You will have joy, peace, and hope in abundance.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
Hebrews 12:2 says yes! You have an example to follow, the pioneer and protector of our faith, one who showed us how to endure the shame of the cross.
“[We are] looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Romans 2:7 says yes! You are given glory, honor, immortality and eternal life.
“To those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.”
Our God loves to say yes. The more we mature in him, the more freedom (and responsibility) he can show unto us.
When we show we can be trusted in our walk with him, yes will be all we’ll ever hear.
God tells us yes, it’s time to step out in faith for him.
