Our Guiding Light

English Audio Version

We are the center of the universe.

In our heads, the sun, the stars, and the people who inhabit our world revolve around us. Everything they do is seen in the light of how it affects us.

We plan the direction of our lives, and we expect everyone else to fall in step. We know where we’re going. They need to figure it out.

Proverbs 16:9 tells us who’s really in control.

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

God has given mankind choice. We can select to be a teacher or a doctor, a dock worker or a pilot. We pick our spouse and the house we live in. We even decide if we want to believe in God or not.

We don’t, however, have a choice in whether we get a severe illness, endure climatic weather changes, or are involved in an unexpected accident.

Sometimes mudslides take our house down the hill, and all we can do is hold on for the ride.

Our strength comes in trusting in the Lord during every circumstance. He is our guiding light, and in him, we’ll reveal the peace the world can never know.

Our hand in the hand of Jesus gives us confidence that our end will be as good as our beginning.
